Traditional Arts Programing
We all want to give our children the best start that we can. We want them to learn as much as they in order for them to become well-rounded and successful individuals. The arts, both visual and performing, help children to learn critical skills that they are not likely to learn from other areas of academic study. Sadly school arts programs are being cut to make up for budget shortfalls and to make room for test prep. This is why we began to take an interest in and provide quality arts programing.

What is there to learn?
Arts programs have been shown to help children develop vital skills such as evaluative thinking, analytic thinking, and much more. These skills, when learned early, have been shown to make learning mathematics and science much easier. Arts education helps children develop judgement and philosophical thinking allowing them to evaluate situations and determine solutions that are productive. These are skills that are not only important but are becoming increasingly rare as we push kids to memorize and recite facts in order to pass tests that will give them high marks and ensure their school stays funded.
In addition to those skills we at the Schmutz Company target our programs to teach kids differential learning, creative thinking, story telling, collaboration, project management, leadership skills, and much more. When children learn to think creatively and begin to understand that they can use logic and reason to solve a problem and not just memorization they become much better at managing problems, dealing with stress, handling life-changes, and often create or find solutions far faster than children who don’t possess these skills.
Arts education helps kids succeed at math, science, sports, inter-personal-relations, and so much more. If you feel that your child is not getting enough arts through their school please visit us at one of our workshops.
